Feeling the baby move higher than i should be?

at 18 weeks it is impossible to be able to feel the baby kick or sock around you're ribs im 24weeks and i still feel her right where my belly on is maybe a inch higher just this week ... if you are feeling it at your ribs its either your further along then you thought or gas
