Why is there a weird conflict between working mothers and stay at home mothers?

I've noticed this in my neighborhood. It seems like there is a weird conflict/friction that goes on between the working mothers and stay at home mothers in my neighborhood. The two seem rarely mix and I hear each group making snide remarks about the other. Am I the only one that has noticed this? What gives?
