How do you tarnish or age a new mirror's surface for decoration? ?

I know that I can go out and buy an antique mirror or one that is aged for a really expensive price but this is my little do-it-yourself project. I'm hoping to tarnish the mirror so that it has that antique, old look to it and I'm merely using it for decorating purposes. Thanks!
